KaligApp Section 508 compliance statement.
Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, requires that electronic and information technology used by U.S. Federal agencies be accessible to people with disabilities.
KaligApp is covered under section 1194.21 (Software Applications and Operating Systems). The application is built for iPadOS, and most of its features are accessible through the common assistive technologies provided by the host operating system — VoiceOver, Switch Control, Full Keyboard Access, Dynamic Type and Reduce Motion.

§ 1194.21 — Software applications and operating systems
(a) When software is designed to run on a system that has a keyboard, product functions shall be executable from a keyboard where the function itself or the result of performing a function can be discerned textually.
All functions are operable via keyboard, at least through the assistive technologies provided by iPadOS (Full Keyboard Access, VoiceOver).
(b) Applications shall not disrupt or disable activated features of other products that are identified as accessibility features.
KaligApp does not disrupt or disable any operating-system accessibility features.
(c) A well-defined on-screen indication of the current focus shall be provided and programmatically exposed to assistive technology.
Focus indication is exposed through the assistive technologies provided by iPadOS.
(d) Sufficient information about a user interface element — identity, operation and state — shall be available to assistive technology.
Most controls expose identity, role and state to VoiceOver. Some free-form canvas content is inherently visual.
(e) When bitmap images identify controls, the meaning assigned shall be consistent throughout the application.
Iconography carries a consistent meaning throughout the application.
(f) Textual information shall be provided through OS functions for displaying text (content, caret, attributes).
Text fields expose content, caret position and attributes through iPadOS.
(g) Applications shall not override user-selected contrast and colour selections and other display attributes.
KaligApp respects system Dynamic Type, contrast and display settings; interface colours are adjustable.
(h) When animation is displayed, the information shall be available in at least one non-animated mode.
Interface animation is minimal and honours the system Reduce Motion setting.
(i) Colour coding shall not be used as the only means of conveying information.
Colour is never the sole cue; text labels and icons accompany any colour coding.
(j) A variety of colour selections capable of producing a range of contrast levels shall be provided.
Interface theme and contrast options are adjustable in preferences.
(k) Software shall not use flashing or blinking elements between 2 Hz and 55 Hz.
KaligApp contains no flashing or blinking content.
(l) Electronic forms shall be accessible to assistive technology.
Forms are operable and labelled for assistive technology.
§ 1194.31 — Functional performance criteria
(a) At least one mode of operation that does not require user vision, or support for assistive technology, shall be provided.
KaligApp is software for producing a visual product (artwork).
(b) At least one mode not requiring visual acuity greater than 20/70, or AT support, shall be provided.
Zoom, Dynamic Type and contrast options are available, alongside iPadOS assistive technologies.
(c) At least one mode not requiring user hearing, or AT support, shall be provided.
Use of KaligApp does not require any hearing.
(d) Where audio is important, an enhanced auditory mode or assistive-hearing support shall be provided.
Use of KaligApp does not require any hearing.
(e) At least one mode not requiring user speech, or AT support, shall be provided.
Use of KaligApp does not require any speech.
(f) At least one mode operable with limited reach and strength, not requiring fine motor control, shall be provided.
Switch Control and AssistiveTouch are supported through iPadOS; gestures have single-action alternatives.
§ 1194.41 — Information, documentation, and support
(a) Support documentation shall be available in alternate formats upon request, at no additional charge.
Documentation is provided as accessible HTML on kaligapp.com, free of charge.
(b) End-users shall have a description of accessibility features in alternate formats upon request.
Accessibility features are described in accessible formats readable by assistive technology.
(c) Support services shall accommodate the communication needs of end-users with disabilities.
Support is available by email, which can be read using assistive technology.
